Fenton Hobnail (?) milk glass pitcher Picture(s) and Description:
I have what may be a Fenton Hobnail milk glass pitcher. Here's what I received in an email from another eBay member (I know nothing about milk glass): "My source is the 2006 Whitmyer book FENTON ART GLASS HOBNAIL PATTERN IDENTIFICATION & VALUE GUIDE, pg. 141. The authors show, what appears to be, your pitcher. They call it the No. 3965-32 oz. Squat Jug. They note it is 5 1/2 inches high. They also say it was introduced in Milk Glass in July 1952 & discontinued in 1968. Therefore it is not considered antique but is collectible." The pitcher is about 6" wide at its widest point, not including the handle. The diameter of the top is 4". The diameter of the bottom is about 4.5". It is about 5.5" tall. The bottom is not stamped in any way, but it does have a sort of swirly design (very faint) from where the glass was blown or manufactured. According to this other eBay member, the bottom of Fenton Hobnail was not stamped until the 1970's. There are no cracks or chips in this pitcher, as you can see from the photo. However, it does have a small amount of dirt/smudges from storage. Overall, it is in very good shape, and will be in excellent shape with a good wash. This item will ship Priority or Parcel Post, your choice when you check out and the shipping includes insurance for the purchase price. I do not ship internationally and I will not end this auction early. Please do not ask. Also, due to one non-paying bidder already on this item, I ask that you pay within three days of auction's end, or I will file a NPB and relist the item again. Sorry to be tough, but eBay is getting out of control with this sort of thing happening.
