Description: This Victorian-style pitcher (2796 AM) is very difficult to find and is the only item produced in this treatment that I am aware of. It is a gorgeous piece of art glass and one that will be treasured for years to come. Produced by the Fenton Art Glass Company in Williamstown, WV. This was a very limited edition of 490 pieces produced in 1995 as part of the Connoisseur Collection. "The Connoisseur Collection was first established in 1983 with the idea to create unique items and treatments in glass that required special skills; items that would showcase Fenton glassmakers' and decorators' talents." (Quoted from John Walk's book - Fenton Glass Compendium 1985-2001). A certificate is included with this pitcher that tells how it was made. Following is what is written on it. "The Fenton Art Glass Company certifies this piece of glass as a handmade LImited Edition from the 1995 Connoisseur Collection. Four glasses are combined to make one dramatic art glass pitcher. Fenton craftsman take pure gold ruby, cover it with milk glass and then layer it again with Celeste Blue. A crystal ring and handle are deftly applied to the blown pitcher before it is iridized. A masterful work of art to recapture the flavor of the highly embellished Victorian Glass. Martha Reynolds' litling floral drifts over the surface to complete the piece. The mould is an original Fenton and dates back to 1958. Limit: 490." Original price 15 years ago was $250! Markings: "Handpainted by Marilyn Wagner / Designed by Martha Reynolds / #327/490." Also has the original gray Fenton label with the original price tag. Condition: Perfect condition, no chips, no nicks, no cracks. The envelope and certificate are creased because they were curled up inside the pitcher. Size (approx): 10" high to top of handle, 9" to top of pitcher itself. The crimp is 5.5" wide. All questions will be answered Monday through Saturday. Sunday is my day off. Payment due within 7 days after purchase.
